Fans rejoice in IndyCar return to Watkins Glen

IndyCar fans were generally disappointed that the series did not return to Watkins Glen International following the 2010 season. The track was given the July 4th weekend for its yearly race. This date never really drew the numbers of fans to support the continuation of the race. Ever since the track announced its repave project, rumors have been circling regarding a return to the historic road course. When the race promotors for the Boston Grand Prix pulled out, IndyCar saw its perfect opportunity to return to the Glen. In less than three weeks the track, ISC and IndyCar worked out a deal to return for the 2016 season during the Labor Day weekend. Following the announcement, the feedback on social media was massively positive. Tickets for the weekend, which will also include the Indy Light series will go on sale May 18th.
